Nicaragua Day Tour

Travel from Costa Rica to Nicaragua and explore the country’s most iconic highlights in just one day. This full-day guided experience takes you across the border with assistance at every step, allowing you to focus entirely on discovering Nicaragua’s culture, history, and natural wonders. Your guides will pick you up from your hotel and escort you to the border, assisting with passport paperwork and visa transactions. Once inside Nicaragua, the day begins with a healthy local breakfast. At the Catarina Volcano Outlook Point, you’ll enjoy panoramic views of a dormant volcano crater, the city of Granada, and Lake Nicaragua. Afterward, visit the Masaya Artisan Market to shop for local souvenirs and experience everyday Nicaraguan life before enjoying a typical Nicaraguan lunch. You will then visit the Masaya Volcano, an active volcano where, depending on activity levels, you may approach the crater to hear it rumbling and emitting gases. On days when volcanic activity is too strong, the volcano will be observed from a safe distance, which still offers a rare and impressive sight. Next, explore the colonial city of Granada. The tour stops at La Merced Church, one of Granada’s most beautiful landmarks. You will climb the tower to reach the rooftop, where panoramic views of Granada, Mombacho Volcano, Lake Nicaragua, and the surrounding islets await an ideal spot for photography. The final highlight is a one-hour boat ride on Lake Nicaragua at sunset, cruising past the famous islets. During the boat tour, you may stop at Monkey Island, where monkeys sometimes approach the boat and interact with your guide. Afterward, the group will begin the journey back to Costa Rica, stopping along the way to pick up snacks for the return trip.
